Microbiological Sampling
Microbiological sampling is an effective way of determining the microbiological activity within your water systems. Fineapply Limited carry out both legionella and potable sampling at UKAS accredited laboratories which are also accredited under the PHLS Water Microbiology External Quality Assessment Scheme for the isolation of legionella from water. |
Our legionella sampling is also carried out in accordance with ISO 11731998, However, as legionella bacteria are commonly found in all natural water systems, albeit in low numbers, the sampling of systems may result in a positive result. Sampling just for the sake of sampling will not provide useful information on how effective the control of the bacteria is within your systems and is often a waste of money. |
Fineapply will help you formulate your legionella sampling strategy prior to taking samples so that you may be able to see just how effective your control scheme actually is. It must be remembered that failure to detect legionella should not be used as an excuse to relax control schemes. A legionella negative result only means that legionella bacteria were not detected in the sample of water taken at a specific time, and not that no legionella were detected in your system. It is for this reason that results should only be interpreted by a suitably competent person.
In addition to legionella sampling, we can also carry out potable sampling of your water to determine the quality of your drinking water.
